SCS First General Meeting

This past week, we had our SCS First General Meeting! There were a lot of new faces and a large attendance from undergraduate students, graduate students and faculty. The meeting began with everyone enjoying pizza and interacting with others. Because of our clever advisor, Dr. Kate Lee managed to get a large discount for our first general meeting.

Next, we played two ice breaker games which were different from our traditional “Hunter, Lady, Bear” game. The first game was called “Catch Me if You Can” and the game entailed participants to get into pairs in order to test their observational skills. Simply, one participant will turn around and change three things about themselves physically or aesthetically. Next, the partner will guess what was changed!

Our next game was called “Confusion,” and the game entailed two facilitators, our President and Vice President to give the members humorous tasks in dynamic groups! Some tasks included spelling words out with their bodies, dancing, and listing our upcoming SCS events. We concluded our first general meeting with the faculty in our department introducing themselves to the SCS members in an amusing way! We would like to thank everyone for coming out!
